Christmas Is Going to be Fun!

Once a week I go to my mom's house to have dinner and to see my niece, Caroline, and sometimes her brothers if they are there. Last night it was just Caroline and she was in such a good mood. When I got there she ran to tell me that Santa Claus had already come to see her! My mom had brought her Christmas trees down from the attic and put them in the garage until she had time to decorate. Caroline was out there and she found a dress in the midst of all the Christmas stuff. Well, she is totally convinced Santa brought it just for her even after my mother told her she had bought it for her. We also spent part of the night looking through toy magazines and letting Caroline circle the toys she wanted. Trust me, at two and a half she knows what she likes! She knew some toys were for big girls, and she was just a little girl so she couldn't get them. She would circle something and then say, "I want so much stuff." Mom was so sad that she is totally not into Barbies. As a child I loved them, but Caroline is still a little young. Mom was ready to start buying her some with pretty dresses and lots of other clothes. Christmas is not about the gifts, it is about the birth of our Savior, but it is fun to experience it all through the eyes of a child and be able to enjoy the magic of the season. Caroline is at the perfect age to enjoy everything and let us enjoy it all with her.
